THE SAGES: THEODOR HERZL
In this episode attention will be drawn to a brief but pithy comment by Mr. Theodor Herzl, a modern father of Jewish Zionism. The importance of the modern Zionist movement in the Western Hemisphere, Europe, the Levant, and the British Commonwealth cannot be overstated. To this day Zionist influence on policy that is relevant to the Middle-East is decisive in most instances. Hence, Theodor Herzl’s views cannot be considered dated or irrelevant. Zionism is merely divided into a “pre-Palestinian state” (Jewish) and a “post-Palestinian state.” The only thing that follows that is the Pax Judaica (Jewish Messianic Era).

Without belaboring this terse statement I merely observe that he seemed to be confirming the two routes to power: Rule by the Sword or by the ”Golden Rule.”

THE SAGES: RABBI LEON SPITZ
I believe that it is instructive and altogether beneficial for ordinary Americans to understand the thinking of the “best and brightest” minds that grace the “ruling circles” that invisibly guide the policies that govern us. It is feckless to shrug one’s shoulders and say: “Things just happen.” Our leaders are scientific materialists who pride themselves on their reasoning ability and problem-solving acumen. As leaders, they are not always forthright with the people. This is not because they want to dissemble; it’s because they care about you. These “big ideas” of theirs can be twisted by “far-out” types. In such a state they might frighten the unsophisticated minds of the simple folk of America. It is for you that they lie!
Not being a politician or media “newshound” has been a blessing of birth for me. It’s not in me to patronage humble folks. This being so, I’d like to introduce the first of many sages that have enriched America, Europe and the world community with their thoughts: Rabbi Leon Spitz.
“GLAMOROUS PURIM FORMULA
“The Purim festival offers a formula to combat anti-Semitism. And no wonder, since it was during those Purim days, just about twenty-five hundred years ago that Jews lived for the first time in their history in Galuth. And it was then that Jews met the anti-Semite face to face — and triumphed over him.
“To the question, how did he do it? a rereading of the Book of Esther will afford the answer. No, there was no miracle about it at all. Fact is, the Purim festival is unique in this respect that nothing supernatural is mentioned in its connection. It is also unique in that the name of God does not occur in the entire story. It presents just this one problem, the problem of anti-Semitism and affords a realistic solution, which seems to have a substantial amount of merit….
“Dealing as it does with the most serious problem of Jewish life, the perennial curse of anti-Semitism, the festival has yet become the merriest and the gayest in the Jewish calendar. The Order of the Day includes wine drinking, the Purim Seuda or Banquet to top off the holiday which has been launched on Megillah night by the public reading of the Story of Esther. It by no means neglects the giving of charity to the poor and it stresses the practice of Shalach Mones or the Exchange of Presents among relatives and friends. Every ear mark of festivity lends its bit of gaiety to make this the most glamorous of Jewish holidays. And so it goes.
“But why all this?
“For the very simple reason that the Purim festival spelled to Every Jew of Every Generation the call to fight the good fight with a pretty definite assurance that victory and triumph were just right around the corner. The Purim story mirrored the precariousness and the uniqueness of Jewish Life in Exile. Withal it reemphasizes the story-book formula that all’s well that ends well, and every Jew lived happily ever after….
“And then anti-Semitism struck.
“The causes were the perennial causes: jealousy, race hatred, the Jews were aliens, they were — that greatest of unforgiveable crimes — they were DIFFERENT. In the words of the Megillat Esther, ‘Their laws are diverse from those of every people; neither keep they the king’s laws.’…
“The Purim formula demands the following elements: Selfrespect, Unity, Faith, Courage and Sacrifice….
“For the anti-Semite has no morality, and he has no conscience. He understands but one language, and he must be dealt with on his own level. The Purim Jews stood up for their lives. American Jews too must come to grips with our contemporary anti-Semites. We must fill our jails with anti-Semitic gangsters, we must fill our insane asylums with anti-Semitic lunatics, we must combat every alien Jew-hater. We must harass and prosecute our Jew baiters to the extreme limits of the laws, we must humble and shame our anti-Semitic hoodlums to such an extent that none will wish to dare to become ‘fellow-travelers.’ “

My intention is to provide a fair rendering of major points touched on by the Sage, and, if there is a conclusion, to provide it, as was done in this instance. The wisdom, or beauty, to be found in the thoughts of exalted leaders is relative and subject to the intellectual filters possessed by the reader.

PROTOCOL: AN OUTLINE FOR RULE

There have been quite a number of protocols written over the centuries. Even in our time they roll out. The United Nations may be working on several at this very minute. Still, for many people the word conjures up images of clandestine Jews “hatching up” a plot whose benefits are limited to Jews. Still others hear the word and think of all the evil people who would be blaming Jews for some obvious forgery that “god-knows-who” thought up for reasons of spite – or worse. Indeed, pogroms may have been engendered by such slanders, some may aver.
Be that as it may, protocols are commonplace, and Jewry has sired people who have fathered them. After all, Jews produce dreamers, too. However much care has been taken to outline practical steps which have been or should be taken, a protocol is imbued with idealism. At its grandest a protocol becomes a draft for a utopia. I believe that these are the most interesting protocols of all.
However, in this blog I am going to direct attention to a more particular – yes, and practical – protocol. It is known as “The Protocol of 1919.” This is a fairly grand title for a sheet of paper found in the pocket of a dead, Jewish soldier. The soldier was named “Zunder,” and he held the rank of Bolshevik Commander of the 11th Sharp-shooter Battalion. It was discovered and subsequently found its way into print in the Prizyv, a Russian newspaper, on February 5, 1920. If all the information discovered is accurate, then it does throw light on the views and goals of clandestine Jews during the revolutionary period which culminated in the utter overthrow of the Russian monarchy – and, indeed, Russian self-determination as well. Consider:
“SECRET. — To the representatives of all the branches of the Israelite International League.
“Sons of Israel! The hour of our ultimate victory is near. We stand on the threshold to the command of the world. That which we could only dream of before us is about to be realized. Only quite recently feeble and powerless, we can now, thanks to the world’s catastrophe, raise our heads with pride.
“We must, however, be careful. It can surely be prophesied that, after we have marched over ruined and broken altars and thrones, we shall advance further on the same indicated path.
“The authority of the, to us, alien religious and doctrines of faith we have, through very successful propaganda, subjected to a merciless criticism and mockery. We have brought the culture, civilization, traditions and thrones of the Christian nations to stagger. We have done everything to bring the Russian people under the yoke of the Jewish power, and ultimately compelled them to fall on their knees before us.
“We have nearly completed all this but we must all the same be very cautious, because the oppressed Russia is our arch-enemy. The victory over Russia, gained through our intellectual superiority, may in future, in a new generation turn against us.
“Russia is conquered and brought to the ground, Russia is in the agony of death under our heel, but do not forget — not even for a moment — that we must be careful! The holy care for our safety does not allow us to show either pity or mercy. At last we have been allowed to behold the bitter need of the Russian people, and to see it in tears! By taking from them their property, their gold, we have reduced this people to helpless slaves.
“Be cautious and silent! We ought to have no mercy for our enemy. We must make an end of the best and leading elements of the Russian people, so that the vanquished Russia may not find any leader! Thereby every possibility will vanquish for them to resist our power. We must excite hatred and disputes between workers and peasants. War and class-struggle will destroy all treasures and culture created by the Christian people. But be cautious, Sons of Israel! Our victory is near, because our political and economic power and influence upon the masses are in rapid progress. We buy up Government loans and gold, thereby we have controlling power over the world’s exchanges. The power is in our hands, but be careful — place no faith in traitorous shady powers!
“Bronstein (Trotsky), Apfelbaum (Zinovieff), Rosenfeld (Kameneff), Steinberg — all of them are like unto thousands of other true sons of Israel. Our power in Russia is unlimited. In the towns, the Commissariats and Commissions of Food, House Commissions, etc., are dominated by our people. But do not let victory intoxicate you. Be careful, cautious, because no one except yourselves will protect us!
“Remember we cannot rely on the Red Army, which one day may turn its warfare on ourselves.
“Sons of Israel! The hour for our long-cherished victory over Russia is near: close up solid your ranks! Make known our people’s national policy! Fight for eternal ideals! Keep holy the old laws, which history has bequeathed to us! May our intellect, our genius, protect and lead us!
“Signed, The Central Committee of the Petersburg Branch of the Israelite International League.”

All this is spiritually similar to other writings attributed to Jewish “intellectuals.” I put the expression in quotation marks because Jews are the most anti-intellectual people in the world. This is not due to modest intelligence. Far from it. It is due to the almost utter dismissal of thoughts originating in non-Jews. Frankly, non-Jews are thought to be inherently inferior to Jews, due to the special requirements of the Most High which urged the Jews’ creation. Such uniqueness resulted in characteristic “masterpieces” such as DAS KAPITAL, according to at least one rabbi, whose book I possess. In his opinion only a Jew could write such a book with its brilliant insights. He also spoke of the Greeks as possessing minds distinct from and inferentially inferior to that of Jews.
Jews “marvel” and praise the Most high, when they unexpectently encounter a gifted non-Jew. How wondeful G_d is to even bless the non-Jew! Certainly, this is food for thought. However, the concept of equality is never one of the inferences drawn. Masonic Lodges were developed to bandy that sort of rubbish.

PROTOCOLS: THE CRAFT OF STRATEGY

Throughout history men who have desired governmental power have had to consider the best route to take to achieve it. For many the thought was hardly more than an impulse, as they grabbed a sword, battleax or spear and charged the current wielder of power. This procedure tended to blend “survival of the fittest” with “might makes right.” Such leaders, however, could not expect a long period of rule, unless they developed a strategy which would neutralize the inevitable challenger to the crown. For this reason stable rule over a people came to be the province of men who were just a little bit smarter than their foes. In time a ruler came to appreciate timely and useful advice.
Originally, such advice may have come from blood kin or close friends, usually from childhood. In the latter case the “pecking order” has already been long-established. The larger the body of people that had to be ruled, the more likely the need of men who were less well known to the leader. The latter could establish themselves only by accurate analysis and sound advice to this leader (which we will assume to be a king). Such men need not be notable warriors. Cunning could be as useful as a sword on many occasions. The birth of intelligence operations was governmentally due.
Undoubtedly, the first real intelligence work involved spying on and assessing armed opponents in the field. Many a battle has been won or lost due to it. The application of intelligence operations during times of peace became quite natural, as allies were often led by ambitious men, Further, a palace coups was only a dirk away from the king. Food could be poisoned. There were many avenues of intrigue.
In William Shakespeare’s Henry the Fourth, part one, the warning is sounded: “Heavy rests the head that bears the crown.” To sleep better at night, a king needed to feel a bit secure. Sound plans in place offered him some assurance. A brilliant and loyal aide was worth much gold. After all, a dead king has no need of gold. Ousted kings tended soon to be dead kings, too. There was much to commend the development of a high council to assist the king.
As the kingship gained a reputation for farsighted policies, those that wished to replace him by one of their own would have to find similar wise counsellors to develop the necessary plans. Sword and cannon were still sometimes required, but a wide-ranging plan of rule increasingly insured a permanent change of rulers. Over time, a certain body of policies developed as standard points of a king’s rule. Oligarchical power within the realm tended to pressure the king to expand the points of rule in ways favorable to a wider body of subjects, withou destroying the king’s sovereignty. In part this would be due to their “rubbing elbows” with the king’s advisers, and in part it was due to their developing their own set of wise men.
These sorts of events favored the development of an increasingingly educated body of subjects. Education tended to advance the belief in ideals – including utopias. With education and study came prepackaged “codes of law” by which a society might express its deepest yearnings for order. Sometimes these were organized as “protocols.”
One such protocol is known as “A Protocol of 1860.” Consider:
“We take this Protocol from the Morning Post of September 6th, 1920:–
“‘A correspondent writing in reference to the hidden peril draws attention to a Manifesto issued in 1860 to the ‘Jews of the Universe,’ by Adolphe Cremieux, the founder of the Alliance Israelite Universelle, and the well-known member of the Provisional Government of 1871. Adolphe Cremieux, while Grand Master of the French Masonic Lodges, offered 1,000,000 francs for the head of William I. of Germany. On his tomb he requested the following sole inscription to be inscribed: — ‘Here lies Adolphe Cremieux, the founder of the Alliance Israelite Universelle.’
” THE MANIFESTO
“Emblem: On top — the tablets of Moses, a little lower — two extended hands clasping each other, and as basis of the whole — the globe of the earth.
“Motto: ‘All Jews are one, and one for all.’
” The union which we desire to found will not be a French, England, Irish, or German union, but a Jewish one, a Universal one.

“If you realize that the Faith of your forefathers is your only patriotism –
” –if you recognize that, notwithstanding the nationalities you have embraced, you always remain and everywhere form one and only nation –
” –if you believe that Jewry only is the one and only religious and political truth –
” –if you are convinced of this, you, Israelites of the Universe –
” –then come and give ear to our appeal and prove to us your consent!
“Our cause is great and holy, and its success is guaranteed. Catholicism, our immemorial enemy, is lying in the dust, mortally wounded in the head.
“The net which Israel is throwing over the globe of the earth is widening and spreading daily, and the momentous prophecies of our holy books are at last to be realized.
“The time is near when Jerusalem will become the house of prayer for all nations and peoples, and the banner of Jewish mono-deity will be unfurled and hoisted on the most distant shores.
“Let us avail ourselves of all circumstances.
“Our might is immense — learn to adopt this might for our cause.
“What have you to be afraid of?
“The day is not distant when all the riches and treasures of the earth will become the property of the Children of Israel.”

In this protocol ones sees a vision and a “call to arms” – so to speak – to hold to the course. The exhortation is relatively broad and brief. There is an implication that its author, Adolphe Cremieux, assumed that his targeted audience already understoood the details of much of the concepts touched upon. As is often the case, Jewish leaders broaching controversial subject matter would want to be broad and spare. Even then, the idea that “anything you say can and will be used against you” must have been well understood. The strength of Freemasonry in France would allow Cremieux’s anti-Catholic opinion to pass without the raising of an eyebrow.
Note: Adolphe Cremieux uses Jewish and Israel as if they were synonyms, which they are not. While a Judahite may be an Israelite, an Israelite need not be a Judahite. Further, a “Jew” may be a Judahite, Edomite, or other convert. Edomites are Hebrew through Esau but are not Israelites. Jews and many non-Jewish scholars and/or Bible students are typically slovenly in these distinctions. Often, they assert ipsi dixit proclamations that Jews are the only “Israelites” left today. Caveat emptor!
